Student Life
The DGS Student Council (“Stuco”) is an elected body of student leaders consisting of the student body president, the vice president, representatives from each advisory, and up to three appointed members
The purpose of Stuco is threefold:
- To plan and host a variety of events and activities for the student body,
- To promote student voice and provide students with an avenue for expressing concerns and enacting change in collaboration with the school administration, and
- To develop student leaders with the skills and confidence to make a positive impact in their community.
The DGS Student Council was officially founded in 2023 and is governed by a constitution created by the inaugural 2023-2024 Student Council. Stuco’s past and current initiatives have included Halloween, Christmas, and Pi Day celebrations, spirit weeks, assemblies, a spring dance, peer tutoring, writing and photography contests, fundraisers, elections, and more. We look forward to growing our Student Council and expanding upon its successes in the years to come.
