Admissions

Admissions at DGS
At DGS, we seek curious, courageous, and kind students who are eager to embrace transformational learning experiences. As the international division of The Dewey Schools, DGS Adventure serves talented Vietnamese students from diverse backgrounds, providing a progressive, concept-based, and inquiry-driven education. Our program is built around the three deltas—Cognition, Character, and Community—reflecting our commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility.
Admissions to Grade 6 and Grade 9 Only
DGS only admits students into Grade 6 and Grade 9. These key entry points allow us to build strong, collaborative cohorts and ensure students receive the full benefits of our rigorous academic program and character-focused education.
A Rigorous & Holistic Learning Experience
Inspired by Riverdale Country School, a pioneer in integrating character skills into an interdisciplinary curriculum, DGS offers:
- A rigorous academic program that combines the most up-to-date international standards with a curriculum aligned with Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) requirements
- Co-curricular opportunities in arts, technology, experiential learning, and athletics
- A daily advisory program focused on character development
- A high school curriculum with AP Capstone, scientific research, and internships
A Commitment to Access & Diversity
As a nonprofit institution, DGS is committed to providing a world-class education to students regardless of economic background. Financial aid and scholarships are available for qualified students to help foster a dynamic learning community.
What Are We Looking for in Our Admissions Process?
There is no "typical" DGS student, but we hope that our students will grow into young people who:
Want to make a positive difference in the world
Are kind and generous
Are not afraid to embrace intellectual challenges and grow from mistakes
Enjoy collaborating and learning with others
Are curious about the world around them
Pursue goals and purposes beyond themselves
We value students who deeply believe in the power of hard work and self-directed learning, knowing that these qualities will help them excel in whatever they choose to do and influence others in meaningful ways.
Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) for New Students
To ensure a smooth transition, newly admitted students are invited to participate in our Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) held in April and May. This specialized program helps incoming students strengthen their academic foundation and develop essential skills to confidently begin the next school year at DGS.
