HAPPY DGS’ MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL
By DGS Office
Saturday 01-11-2025

No fancy fruit trays, no big stage shows, Mid-Autumn at DGS yesterday (October 3) was lit up by the simplest of things: colorful booths set up by students and parents, the laughter of traditional games, hands shaping tò he, spinning pinwheels, crafting lanterns, and even Sign Language lessons. The whole school gathered to watch the lion dance, enjoying a warm, joyful season together.
From early morning, the hallways buzzed with excitement. Booths quickly became the heart of the festival. Some students, running a stall for the first time, fumbled a little but their eyes sparkled with anticipation. Parents cheered on their children while playfully calling, “Please support our booths!”. Sellers shouted, buyers bargained, and laughter filled every corner, happiness was in every gesture and every moment.

In another corner, students were absorbed in traditional crafts: shaping tò he, assembling pinwheels, and carefully creating lanterns that glowed with pride and tradition. Right next door, the Sign Language class opened a whole new world. At first, students hesitated, hands clumsy with unfamiliar gestures, eyes focused and curious. Within minutes, those hands began to “speak,” eyes started to “listen”, a silent but profound exchange, showing the power of understanding, empathy, and connection without words.

For nearly three hours, the whole school never quieted. And as the festival progressed, the energy only grew: booths sold out to cheers of pride, faces lit up after team victories in games, eager eyes followed the lion dance as it paraded across gymnastic.

Individually, these moments might seem small, but together, they painted a complete, vivid picture of Mid-Autumn at DGS: students were not just participants, but creators; parents were not just spectators, but companions; teachers were not just organizers, but part of the joy itself. Each person a piece of the puzzle, making the day whole and unforgettable.

Perhaps the greatest beauty of Mid-Autumn at DGS lies here: joy isn’t found in extravagance, but in sharing simple moments and being fully present with one another. Another full moon has passed, leaving every student, teacher, and parent with hearts warmed once again by the DGS spirit of community.
